How It Works

Simple. Meaningful. Irreversible.

Step 01

Acknowledge

Submit your existing land acknowledgment - from an email signature, meeting opener, or social media bio. We accept all formats.

Step 02

Get Matched

Our team conducts historical research to identify the specific Nation - and where possible, the specific family - with the strongest ancestral claim to your property.

Step 03

Transfer

We cover legal fees, title costs, and moving assistance. You will need to vacate within 90 days. We recommend beginning to pack early.

From Our Waitlist

"I've been opening every faculty meeting with a land acknowledgment for six years. I submitted my application immediately. I'm currently looking at one-bedroom apartments."

Dr. M.W. Associate Professor, Cultural Studies

"My company's acknowledgment is on every pitch deck. I listed the property. Honestly the process has made me reflect deeply on what 'acknowledgment' actually means."

T.B. Founder & CEO

"I put it in my Instagram bio in 2020. I didn't realize that meant this house specifically. The matching team has been very patient with my questions."

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this apply to renters?

If you include a land acknowledgment in your email signature, professional bio, or social media profile, you are affirming a moral position about the land you occupy - regardless of ownership status. We are currently developing a renter pathway and will be in touch.

What if I only said it once, at a meeting?

Words have weight. That's the whole premise. We take all acknowledgments seriously, as we trust you did when you made them.

Can I keep the property and just make a donation instead?

No. We are a land transfer organization, not a carbon offset scheme. The whole point is the land.

What if I didn't really mean it?

That's between you and the Nations whose land you acknowledged. We are simply here to help those who did.

Words are a beginning.
Not an ending.

If you meant what you said, we're ready when you are. If you didn't - perhaps reconsider the signature.
